Description:
Standing 14 stories and spanning 100,000 square feet, the Roy and Diana Vagelos Education Center rises from a narrow footprint and is organized around a vertically cascading sequence of interconnected social and study spaces. Advanced classrooms, simulation labs, and a 275-seat auditorium are integrated within this layered academic environment. The LEED Gold-certified project also incorporates specialized façade shading and green roofs as part of its environmental strategy.

Goal:
The objective was to create a distinct visual interpretation of this widely published academic building, emphasizing its vertical connectivity, transparency, and spatial variety.

Approach:
I focused on sectional compositions that reveal multiple levels simultaneously, highlighting the building’s cascading circulation and layered geometry. Dusk photography allowed the façade to glow from within, clearly articulating the interior organization at street level. Interior framing emphasized structural rhythm, stair geometry, and the interplay between glass, volume, and city views.
